CAT/FORM3D integrates formability
analysis into Product Lifecycle Management
- Accurately predicts product and process feasibility
- Identify formability problems using only product
geometry
- Quickly identifies splitting, wrinkling and thinning
- Substantially reduces process development time
by accurately sizing blanks
- Fully integrated into Catia V4 Based environment
- Complete analysis in minutes
CAT/FORM3D provides Catia V4 users
with fast formability analysis for evaluation and
validation of stamped components. Formability analysis
is based on component geometry and accounts for material
properties, friction, and blank holder force. CAT/FORM3D
determines if a component can be stamped consistently
with minimum cost, while fulfilling all product performance
requirements. CAT/FORM3D is fully integrated into
Dassault Systèmes’ PLM environment.
"CATFORM provides
an early warning system for stamped parts. We use
it in body design engineering to check the formability
of High Strength Steel parts. Areas of concern are
identified and, if design constraints allowed, shape
changes are made."
