Course Content
While
the programs and unit outlines follow the units offered at QUT, the program
content is ensured by the following means:
Ÿ Local
academics, researchers and practicing engineers are appointed as lectures and
tutors to ensure local relevance of the programs.
Ÿ
Assignments are locality-specific, and only
Singapore
conditions are assumed within its social, cultural,
economic, and legal context.
Ÿ
Joint teaching
by non-local and local staff is coordinated by QUT and CAD-IT to ensure
integration of international and local emphases
both in theory and practice.

the Ministry of Education,
Singapore
.
Program Schedule
For the convenience of working professionals, the
program and examinations will normally be held after office hours in the
evening (Monday to Friday from 6:30pm to 10:30pm) and/or over the
weekends/public holidays ( 9am to 1pm and/or 2pm to 6pm ). Each unit is
delivered over a 6-week period .
The teaching hours of the course are in
accordance with existing requirements at QUT, involving QUT and CAD-IT’s
full-time and part-time academic staff. QUT staff makes regular scheduled trips
to Singapore to deliver intensive teachings and to administer the course.
Teaching Mode
The teaching and learning strategies include
face-to-face lectures and tutorials, jointly conducted by visiting QUT
full-time academic staff, and local tutors and project supervisors appointed by
CAD-IT.
Assessment
Assignments within the program include compulsory
written/oral assignments given during classes, tutorial exercises required to
be submitted for assessment purposes, reports on practical work and projects,
and industrial projects. Unit outlines/study guides for each unit will be
provided in the first two weeks of each semester. Individual
assessment items required for each unit will be detailed in the unit outline.
Further information can be obtained from the program coordinator or lecturer of
the unit concerned.
Graduation
from the programs depends on the successful completion of assessment
requirements for each unit as well as the overall passing grade.
