Post Event Report

14 – 15 May 2013, CAD-IT Consultants (Asia) Pte Ltd organised yet another successful ASEAN ANSYS Conference - its 9th since its partnership with ANSYS began in 1996. The event, supported by ANSYS, Dell, HP, Nvidia, Novatte, Panasas and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) was attended by over 300 distinguished guests from many different industries and countries across South East Asia, with 50 presenters delivering 65 presentations.

The conference was opened by Ms Florence Tan, its Chief Operating Officer who gave a warm welcome to all and sincere thanks to partners, friends and customers for their support. She emphasised the need for companies to embrace a systems approach to engineering as products become smarter and more complex in the midst of surmounting time, resource and cost pressures. The effective use of ANSYS’ suite of comprehensive multiphysics and systems simulation solutions which allow confident prediction of how products will operate in the real world is a key enabler.

Delivering the keynote address, ‘Realise Your Product Promise’, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Terence Chan touched on the fundamentals of good design, key of which is the understanding of customers’ needs and making them central to one’s organisation. Citing “A Brand Is A Promise”. Terence reminded that companies who want to succeed in branding must continue to deliver their product promises, by building products that meet and exceed customers’ needs and expectations.

In delivering their shared vision of simulation-driven systems development, Terence highlighted how CAD-IT and ANSYS have helped many customers in SEA such as C2D, Dyson, Favelle Favco, Lenso, PTT, Panasonic, Petronas, Technip realise their product promises and strengthened their branding.
